Custom Welding & Machining of a Carbon Steel Parachute Compartment

Our group of engineers, fabricators, and machinists at EMF, Inc. routinely fabricate precision components used in critical aerospace and defense applications. This weldment is a parachute compartment used in the Orion Space Program. The weldment measure 9' in length, 9' in width, and 3' in height. It is constructed of carbon steel and meets extremely tight dimensional tolerance requirements, and was machined, fabricated, and welded to customer specifications. Components were assembled to NASA/JSC torque standards and welded to AWS D1.1 standards. The weldment was coated with an epoxy primer and packed into a special shipping container as requested by the customer.

We are located along Florida's space coast and specifically serve the needs of those customers in the aerospace and defense industries. Our company is AS9100C certified and can provide full engineering support services as well as NADCAP accredited fabrication with fast turnaround as needed.
