CNC Programmer

Job Description:

EMF, Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer for a position in Merritt Island, Florida.

A CNC programmer is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Develop CNC programs using Camworks for mills based on engineering drawings and models

- Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tools selection, machine speeds and feed rates

- Monitor output and proper operation of vertical and horizontal machining centers. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quality and quality requirements

- Configure tools and fixtures to ensure efficient production

- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures and gauges to check work

- Accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined with tolerance

- Perform quality checks on finished products to make sure dimensions and other criteria conform to specifications

- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

- Maintains a clean and organized work environment

- Perform assigned jobs efficiently, with minimal errors and high-quality workmanship

- Communicates defects and concerns with supervisor; seeks guidance/instructions as needed

- Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required by the Machine Shop Manager

- Works individually or in a team environment

Skills & Experience:

- 5+ years' experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC machinery

- Experience programming in CAD/CAM platforms essential with Camworks experience a plus

- Excellent mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment, such as precision grinders, machine tools, lathes and lasers, used for cutting, grinding and milling

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, they must have good analytical skills and be able to read Blue prints and mechanical drawings

- Must have proficient understanding of G-code and M -code programming

- Basic Microsoft Office applications

Academic Requirements:

- Completed high school or equivalent

- Strong math skills required

- Associated Degree or certification in related field preferred

Travel & Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., be able to push, pull, sit, stand, and bend up to 8 hours per day

- Personal protective equipment required at all times

- Overtime as required to meet project goals
